Yorkshire pastor Amanda Owen has spoken about a moment in her marriage that left her ex-husband Clive “furious”.
Amanda, 48, announced in June that she and Clive had split after 22 years together.
She and Clive have tried to keep life as smooth as possible for their nine children, Nancy, six, Clemmie, seven, Annas, nine, Sidney, 10, Violet, 12, Edith, 14, Miles, 16, Reuben, 18, and Raven. . , twenty-one.
But Amanda has now recalled a time in their marriage when Clive asked, “Why can’t you just be normal?”
Writing in her book, Celebrating The Seasons, she recounted how in 2019 she decided to run an outdoor race for the first time.
But worried about failing in front of the spectators, Amanda decided to take the tour the night before.
Amanda revealed how she saw Clive standing on a rock pile in the middle of a river as she approached, after he worried about how long it was taking.
Unfortunately for Clive, he ended up losing his balance and falling, with Amanda saying, “To say he was furious was an understatement.”
Clive later yelled, “Why can’t you just be normal?”
Amanda recently confessed that Clive’s spitting had been rough, especially on camera for her Channel 5 show, Our Yorkshire Farm.
Speaking to ITV’s Lorraine programme, the farmer told presenter Christine Lampard: “It’s really difficult and it’s a really difficult aspect to get across.
“But when you make it real [TV] it has to be just that. That means it covers the ups and downs and that can be at any level.”
