A SINGLE mom who became a sports day sensation after last week’s mom race has been OVERWHELMED by messages from hundreds of men around the world.
Katie Hannaford, from Basildon, Essex, might have fallen for the parental race, accidentally flashing her knickers to her daughter’s primary school, but guys all over the world have fallen for her.
The 36-year-old, who runs a home décor business called Home of Hearts, has been inundated with thousands of compliments after the clip of her bottom was circulated online.
Messages calling her a “MILF” and asking how she’s single have bombarded her social media from as far away as Australia.
Closer to home, she has even been recognized at her local Tesco for her newfound fame.
And Katie is turning heads as people praise her for being an “amazing mom” and reacting so well to the mortifying moment.
“I’ve had thousands of messages,” he told Grimsby Live, “At least 500 of them have been from men from Greece to Puerto Rico to Germany and even Australia, saying ‘how are you single?’ and calling me ‘MILF’.
“He has gone crazy, I did not expect this in the least.
“I can’t put into words how I feel but I’ve been loving every minute of it, I haven’t stopped laughing ever since.
“I thought there was something on my face from the way people were looking at me when I was at Tesco yesterday. I had to take a reality check and remember why!”
The mum added: “The best comment I’ve ever seen is one that said ‘Don’t be a Karen, be a Katie’. I can’t take credit for it but it’s my favourite!
“Somebody else said ‘You can get the girl out of Basildon…’. And it’s so true.”
Fortunately, Katie’s children seem to be enjoying the fame and sharing her attention as well.
She said: “My oldest daughter even got a message from someone on Vinted when they recognized her profile after seeing a pair of shoes she was selling.
“[And] My youngest daughter went to school the next day and before she had a chance to explain what happened, everyone was already telling her that her mother is now famous.”
In general, the messages have been overwhelmingly positive, despite the fact that the brave mother has faced some online trolls.
Katie said: “I also got some really heartwarming messages. One came from someone telling me they were in a really dark place, and the video made them smile for the first time in six months.
“For those who hate me, there is nothing you can say or do that will hurt or upset me.
“I didn’t go out of my way to be funny or try to get famous, these things just happen when you don’t expect them.
“Everyone has seen my butt now, but it is what it is, I can’t hide from it. I don’t care!
“It’s not embarrassing, it’s fun, I don’t care about the drama or the conflict, I just want to have fun.
“I haven’t stopped laughing for days. When I went to Slimming World this week they told me I’ve lost 4lbs and I think it’s just for the laughs.
“The message I want to give people is to have fun, be positive and laugh.
“Haters can keep hating, don’t be Karen, be Katie!”
