Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Raheem Sterling, and based on a report in The Times, it seems that the Blues will have a better chance of signing the Manchester City attacking midfielder than Spurs.
The Athletic have reported that Chelsea are growing in confidence that they will be able to sign former Liverpool winger Sterling from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
Earlier this month, The Mirror reported that Tottenham are interested in Sterling, who is on £300,000-a-week at the Citizens (Spotrac).
The Times are now reporting that Sterling will consider leaving Premier League champions Manchester City this summer on two conditions.
The first condition is that Sterling needs to play regular first-team football.
The second condition is that the attacker’s new club club has to compete for the Champions League and the biggest domestic trophies.
Chelsea over Tottenham Hotspur for Raheem Sterling
In our view, Chelsea will have a better chance of signing Raheem Sterling than Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
Spurs have only just returned to the Champions League, while Chelsea are regulars in the competition and won it as recently as 2021.
The Blues also pay big money to their players.
The only problem could be that City may not be willing to sell Sterling to direct Premier League title rivals Chelsea.
Sterling has scored 109 goals and created 74 big chances in 320 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
