Raiders mess up again – coach Gruden grabs in the closet

The Las Vegas Raiders have suffered a setback in the battle for a play-off spot in the NFL. In the 27:30 defeat at the Chargers, quarterback Derek Carr also suffered an injury. Meanwhile, coach Jon Gruden surprised with the choice of his hat.

First a mistake in the closet, then the end for the quarterback – and finally the defeat after extra time: coach Jon Gruden and the Las Vegas Raiders experienced an evening to forget in the professional football league NFL. After 27:30 at the Los Angeles Chargers, the play-off train is as good as left.

Gruden surprised at the start of the game by choosing his hat, which was probably a bit older. It said “Oakland Raiders”, and in early 2020 the franchise had moved from there to Nevada. “Someone played a nice trick on me,” Gruden said later and apologized. He exchanged the cap before the second quarter.

His regular quarterback Derek Carr suffered a groin injury in the game and had to be replaced by Marcus Mariota. The Raiders took a 27:24 lead in extra time with a field goal, the Chargers won with a touchdown. Quarterback Justin Herbert made it into the end zone himself 89 seconds before the end.

With a 7: 7 balance, the Raiders are practically out of the play-off race. LA (5: 9) has already failed.
