Lizzie Cundy surprises in a red backless dress with a bardot neckline and a sweeping train as she sets out to host Victoria’s Promise charity fundraiser

Lizzie Cundy stunned in a red dress without a back with a sweeping train as she attended the Victoria’s Promise annual ball at Oakley Hall Hotel in Basingstoke on Friday.

The television personality, 54, posed for some incredible photos outside the venue as she stepped up to host the cancer-charity event, which marked her first return since the pandemic.

She looked sensational in the Pia Michi number that draped over her shoulders with beautiful lace details.

Turning around for another photo, Lizzie showcased the glitzy oversized bow at the bottom of her back as the dress nipped in at her waist before reaching to the ground.

She styled her honey blonde hair in bouncy loose curls with a stylish sweeping ponytail and added a piece of pink lipstick to complete her glamorous look.

The event worked to raise funds to help young women and their families, as they go through cancer and beyond.

Next to the photos she wrote: ‘She will go to the ball! Support my dear friend Fiona who unfortunately lost her daughter to cancer. We’ll give the big C a big kick tonight and pick up a lot for Victoria’s Promise. ‘

Speaking after the ball against MailOnline, Lizzie said: ‘I was very proud to host the event and support this charity. Charity means so much to me because there are so many young women diagnosed with cancer who have no one to talk to.

‘I lost my friend Sarah Harding to girls out loud from this terrible disease and Victoria’s Promise provides an opportunity for those with cancer to get help and talk to all the cancer sufferers who are going through the same thing. I wish Sarah had done this. ‘

She went on to say: ‘Too many young women who are diagnosed with cancer have no one to turn to and they need to be able to relate to someone who is going through the same thing. Victoria Promise gives her hope and helps her through the most difficult times. ‘

Lizzie recently took to Instagram when she praised her ex-husband Jason Cundy for his courage during his cancer treatment in the 1990s for World Cancer Day.

Jason and Lizzie married in 1994 and their first son, Josh, was born two years later – with Jason diagnosed with testicular cancer the following year.

Lizzie nursed him and the cancer went into remission, and welcomed her second son James was born in 2000, before the cancer returned in 2003.

In the post to her ex-husband, Lizzie stated: ‘I will always be so proud of how he handled all the treatment’.
