Laura Hamilton issues urgent warning as she calls police over online imposter

A Place in the Sun star Laura Hamilton has sent a warning to fans after being impersonated online.

The upset 40-year-old told how she got the police involved to deal with the “serious” situation that threatens to ruin her vacation.

In an impassioned video, Laura explained: “You will see on my Instagram, my official Instagram, I might add, that they inform me again that there is still someone who has a fake Instagram account and is communicating with people on my behalf and it is not me.

“It’s actually getting pretty serious now, so it will be reported to the police.

“This is my genuine Instagram and I’m on vacation trying to celebrate my friend’s birthday.

“But I just wanted to reiterate in this story that there is only one Instagram account that is me and it is this one. So if you get any message from someone else, please ignore it, delete it and block.

“Like I said, it’s getting pretty serious now and I’m going to have to get the police involved.”

Laura is currently on vacation in Turkey with her friends, following her separation from insurance broker Alex.

Telly star Laura married Alex in 2012, three years after they started dating, and they share children Rocco, eight, and Tahlia, six.

In January, it was revealed that they had broken up after a total of 13 years together.

Announcing the news, Laura said: “This is not something I thought I would say, but after 13 years of being together, Alex and I have parted ways.

“Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect our family’s privacy at this time.”

A month later, the star admitted she was “overwhelmed with sadness” after breaking the news.

In early April, he sold the quaint cafe he had once run with Alex. The sale of her reportedly left her heartbroken.

Laura has been a host of A Place In The Sun since 2012, helping countless couples find vacation homes.

But now she’s branching out with her TV work, recently revealing she’ll be joining the This Morning team “over the next few weeks.”
