The couple is preparing for sentencing scheduled for later this year after being found guilty of tax evasion, wire fraud and conspiracy to commit bank fraud.


Did Todd and Julie Chrisley go to jail?

On June 7, 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion, according to a court clerk for the Northern District of Georgia.

According to TMZ, “his accountant, Peter Tarantino, was also found guilty of related charges, including complicity in filing false tax returns.”

Sentencing is set for October and the couple faces up to 30 years in prison.

For now, the Chrisleys have been released on bond and must participate in a home detention and location monitoring program, according to Deadline.

On the latest episode of their podcast, Chrisley Confessions, the reality stars discussed how they feel about the conviction.

“We wanted to come out today and let everyone know that this is a very sad and heartbreaking time for our family right now,” Todd said.

“But we still stand firm in our faith and trust that God will do what he does best because God works miracles and that is what we are waiting for.”

What were Todd and Julie Chrisley charged with?

In August 2019, Todd and Julie were charged with conspiring to defraud “numerous banks” by giving the institutions false personal financial statements and other information while taking out millions of dollars in loans, the US Attorney’s Office for the District said. North Georgia.

“Todd and Julie Chrisley are accused of not only defrauding multiple banks by fraudulently obtaining millions of dollars in loans, but also allegedly misleading taxpayers by actively evading paying federal taxes on the money they earned,” United’s Byung J. They pleaded not guilty to all charges and maintained their innocence.

A judge set unsecured bond at $100,000 each with travel restrictions.

“We stand firm in our faith, and we do what we know is right. We are fortunate to have the counsel that we have, and our family will stand together, and we will walk this path because we know the good Lord takes our hand and take us,” said Todd.

In a long Instagram postTodd told fans that the couple fell victim to a former employee who somehow convinced federal agents to come after them.

The caption reads: “Thank you all for your love and support. Our family will always be grateful ❤️ God bless you all!”

“In revenge, he took a bunch of his fake documents to the US Attorney’s office and told them we had committed all kinds of financial crimes, including tax evasion and bank fraud,” Todd wrote.

He continued: “That got their attention, but once we had a chance to explain who he was and what he had done to us, they realized it was all a bunch of nonsense and sent him on his way.”
